A new fundraiser can make a difference for the elderly this holiday season.
The light a candle fundraiser will take place throughout the month of December at the Grand River Multipurpose Center in Chillicothe. Every donation received will help the center's homebound meal delivery program provide hot meals for the elderly who cannot afford a meal. For every donation a candle ornament will be place on a Christmas tree in honor of a loved one. Administrator Janet Hurtgen says the fundraiser is trying to get ahead of the winter months to feed those who need to be fed.
This is the first year the Light a Candle fundraiser has been in Chillicothe. Donations can be made at the Grand River Multipurpose Center. Last year more than 32,000 meals were provided to the elderly in Livingston county.© Copyright, KXCV
