The hospital in Maryville receives a major gift.

The estate of Bob and Lorena stoll has left more than $730,000 to St. Francis hospital and Health Services. The Maryville and Arkoe area farmer's gift will be used to buy medical equipment. St. Francis CEO Gray Cox calls gifts in such an amount exceedingly rare.

Cox says $20,000 will establish a scholarship for Nodaway county students pursuing their RN or LPN nursing degrees.The stoll gift is on top of nearly 20,000 they gave to the hospital's foundation in 2006 and 2007.
