A northwest Missouri financial expert says now is the time to look at your finances, before the first of January hits.

Dr. Rebecca Travnichek is the family financial education specialist with the Andrew County Extension Agency. She says reviewing your tax situation is especially important.

Travnicheck adds you can support a charity, pre-pay bills, and spend your flexible spending account to help the tax status. She also recommends changing important passwords, review your credit history, and clear clutter before the new year.
