The memoirs could soon be published of a Northwest Missouri native and giant in American computer programming.
Jean Jennings Bartik from rural Stanberry graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 1945 and went on to help create the world's first successful electronic computer. She died in March, but her ALma Mater has secured the copyright for her autobiography and is nearing publication. Jon Rickman has been heading up the team getting the autobiography ready and says proceeds from its sale will go toward scholarships for women at Northwest who major in science.
Northwest hopes the autobiography will be published this upcoming year.© Copyright, KXCV
