ROCK PORT, MO (2010-12-08) The Rock Port Board of Aldermen this week approve plans to build sidewalks next Spring near the school.
Engineering compaction tests were presented at the meeting with the concern being pouring a sidewalk over a water trench line. Alderman Rebel Herron moved to conduct more compaction tests in the Spring right before the sidewalks are ready to be poured. That motion passed. The board is also trying to increase safety on Rock Port's Main Street. After discussing the idea of lowering the speed limit on Main, members decided to remove one parking spot from each block at the intersection of Cass Street and Main to increase visibility and safety.
