CALDWELL COUNTY, MO (2010-12-16) Federal officials have convicted an illegal immigrant in Caldwell County for a marijuana operation.
Edulio Perez was found guilty on three counts, including growing the pot, possessing a firearm connected to a drug trafficking crime, and being an illegal alien possessing a gun. Perez is a mexican national, but was under surveillance last year when helicopter flights discovered the plants in a field in Caldwell County. The Sheriff's Office and Highway Patrol troopers found the processing operation in the nearby woods. More than 650 marijuana plants were destroyed in that field. Perez faces anywhere from 2 years to life in a federal prison for the conviction.
