SAVANNAH, MO (2010-12-08) Savannah leaders are reviewing options after the long-time mayor resigns.
Mayor Billy Kretzer announced at Monday night's meeting that would be his last. During his regular report to council members, Kretzer said there had been "Much turmoil and disharmony" at the city of Savannah. Savannah's city administrator has also resigned as is expected to leave by the end of the month and city finances are at the lowers level in years. Kretzer thanked everyone for attending the meeting and for their support over the years told the audience you get the government you deserve then walked out. He's expected to formally submit his written resignation later this week. Council president Connie George took over as mayor pro-tem until another meeting is held to determine who to appoint as Savannah's mayor.
