PRINCETON, MO (2010-12-06) A case involving a Mercer county gas station investigated by Missouri environmental officials now is being referred to the state attorney general.
Johnson's Service or Snyder's MFA is located at the junction of Highway 65 and 136 in Princeton. The state Department of Natural Resources claims there are underground storage tanks that have not been maintained properly and need to be permanently closed. There are four empty tanks total, two for gasoline and two for oil. State investigators say the facility has not produced the proper documents showing the old tanks have been treated for corrosion protection upgrades. The attorney general's office is expected to review the investigation to determine future compliance or fines against Johnson's Service Snyder's MFA.
