ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-12-21) Yesterday morning's house fire near Albany is another example of the unprecedented pressure the Red Cross is experiencing this month.

In the last two weeks alone, the St. Joseph Red Cross has responded to more than 20 house fire across northwest Missouri. The office covers 13 counties in our region. Kevin Kirby is the director of the Red Cross in St. Joseph and says as a charity, the high number of calls for help has hit them hard. Besides taking mailed donations, the St. Joseph Red Cross is also accpeting contributions through the national website. Visitors can type in their zip code, which will forward the funds to the Red Cross in our region.
