PLATTE CITY, MO (2010-12-13) A northwest Missouri wine grape grower has been chosen as chairman of the Missouri farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committe.
Jason Gerke from Platte City was appointed chairman during an annual meeting last week at the lake of the Ozarks. The appointment was made by Charles Kruse, Missouri Farm Bureau president. As chairman of the committee, Gerke also serves as an advisory member on the Missouri Farm Bureau Board of directors. Gerke and his wife Colleen own and operate Jowler Creek Vineyard and Winery North of Platte City.
