MARYVILLE, MO (2009-12-04) Maryville's State representative was recently recognized as an outstanding legislator by the Missouri community college association.

Mike Thomson was one of just 4 lawmakers honored for efforts on behalf of higher education. The award especially focuses on programs and education at one of the dozen community college districts in the State. Representative Thomson is the chairman of the house education appropriations committee and the vice-chair of the highter education committee.
