MARYVILLE, MO (2009-12-08) Despite the recession, Mo-Dot says winter preparations trump the budget.
Northwest Missouri district engineer Don Wichern says crews are ready for today's winter blizzard. He says Mo-Dot replenished salt through the summer months and refreshed workers on training. He says despite the State's financial woes, federal money was put to use to boost supplies. Wichern adds if winter weather overwhelms one part of the State, Mo-Dot can always transfer crews and resources between districts for reinforcements.
