LATHROP, MO. (2009-12-09) A hazardous material spill near Lathrop yesterday triggers a response from environmental experts.

Two tractor-trailer riggs crashed about 10 O'clock yesterday morning on highway 116 just West of Lathrop, spilling diesel fuel, motor oil, and anti-freeze into the little platte river. Mo-Dot grews were among the first on the scene and successfully contained about half of the 150 gallons of auto fluid. The other half made it into the little platte. The owners of the two rigs Anderson-Erickson dairy out of Des Moines and associated wholesale grocers from Kansas City have hired a firm out of Olathe to conduct the clean up.
