MARYVILLE, MO (2009-12-04) The Missouri department of agriculture and the Missouri department of transportation have agreed to extend Missouri farmers deadlines.
Wet weather in October interrupted the normal harvest period across Missouri and rushed farmers to harvest and transport their crops before cold weather settles. MoDot declared participating farmers have a particular set of guidlines to follow in order to qualify for the extension. Some criteria includes, loaded gross weight can be no greater than 10% above vehicles liscenced weight, no Missouri interstate highway travel and limited transportation of row crop commodities from farms to storage facilities. The extended decleration last until December 22. For a detailed list of qualification criteria visit www.modot.org/MCS.
