MARYVILLE, MO (2009-12-10) Despite the busy past 48 hours, the highway patrol is looking ahead to the Christmas travel season.

The arctic blast was a preview of what can always happen this time of year in the Midwest corner's area. Regardless of the weather, extra traffic will prompt the highway patrol to start extra enforcement on December 24th. It will be monitoring roadways extra close through midnight on December 27th. The patrol says drivers should arrange their plans around the forecast to ensure safety.
