SOUTH NODAWAY, MO (2012-08-27)
The South Nodaway School District has just started its school year, but has its eyes set on next year, when a new addition is set to be completed.
The district plans to have an addition to the high school built, that when completed, will allow the elementary students to move from the present facility in Guilford. Currently the contract with architects and general contractor is under discussion, after which construction can begin. South Nodaway Superintendent Kyle Collins says some of the factors that led to the transition were the potential for savings down the road, the issue of maintenance on an older building, and the need for quality educational space for elementary students. Collins says the project is on track.
The new addition will be attached to the high school and the elementary students will move there in time for the 2013-2014 school year.© Copyright, KXCV
