NODAWAY COUNTY, MO (2012-08-08)
The Jefferson C-123 School District 1.75 million bond issue went down to defeat yesterday despite picking up 52.9 percent approval by voters.
The issue needed 57 percent for passage. If passed, the money would have gone to constructing a new gymnasium as well as remodeling and renovation improvements to the existing facilities. In Gentry County, Democrat Linda Combs with 63 percent of the vote defeated Melissa Mattson in the Collector/Treasurer's race.
