Maryville School Board approves levy and budget

Coffey

MARYVILLE, MO (2012-08-16)

The Maryville Board of Education approved a 6 and a half cent increase in the district's tax levy during last night's meeting.

The total tax rate for the fiscal year will be just over $5.04 cents. Superintendent Larry Linthacum told the Board the change would mean a home owner would see an increase of approximately $12.30 cents in property taxes on a 100,000 dollar home. The Board also approved the 2012-13 fiscal year budget which calls for 17.7 Million Dollars in revenue and 17.3 Million in expenditures. Linthacum says the final budget numbers can be a little misleading.
