Maryville Council approves MPS sign purchase

MARYVILLE, MO (2012-08-14)

The Missouri Department of Transportation recently awarded a 15,000 dollar grant to assist the Maryville Public Safety Department in the purchase of a portable sign.

The Maryville City Council last night approved the purchase and the City's share in the cost of 685 dollars. Public Safety Director Keith Wood says the sign will be used for a variety of purposes.

Another action from last night's Maryville City Council meeting the Council gave support for a new rental housing project know as the "Villas at the Summit Phase Two". The proposed project will add up to 24 rental units targeted to elderly residents near their existing units on the south edge of Maryville. The Council also approved a request for a Soap Box Derby event to be held in Maryville on June 22nd of next year.
