KCPL Explosion at Iatan plant

WESTON, MO (2012-08-9)

Fire Units in Platte County responded this morning to a small explosion at the Iatan One Power plant near Weston and operated by Kansas City Power and Light.

Director of Communications with K-C-P and L, Katie McDonald says the explosion and fire occurred at approximately 9:30 this morning at which time all employees in the facility were evacuated.

McDonald says authorities are now trying to determine the cause of this morning's explosion and fire at the Iatan One power plant.
