2 regional power companies are joining forces for a 5 year- 400 million dollar project to relieve congestion on the electric grid.

Kansas City Power and Light and the Omaha Public Power District are planning and constructing a 150 to 190 mile long transmission line from Sibley Missouri to Nebraska City. Media Spokesperson for the Midwest Transmission Project- Bill Musgrave says no specific route for the line has been set yet.
