A local insurance agent is suggesting those needing to make claims for damaged property after Thursday nights destructive storms do so as soon as possible.

Shelter insurance agent Dave Weigle of Maryville says as of this morning around 50 claims have been made to his agency. Weigle says most of the structural damage came from strong winds and hard hitting hail. He adds making claim as soon as possible will bring an insurance adjuster to your site sooner.

Weigle adds shelter insurance is sending a storm team to evaluate the numbers of claims and the amount of damage.
