MARYVILLE, MO (2011-08-02)
A new study out finds rural Missourians have a harder time accessing basic health care than those living in the city.
The Missouri Hospital Association says rural areas have less per capita primary care doctors. It also says physicians in rural communities tend to be older. Myra Evans is the CEO at Community Hospital, Fairfax, the primary provider of services in Holt and Atchison counties. Evans says the study's findings almost mirror her hospital's situation.
