We should be used to the heat by now, but today just might break records across the listening area.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service near Kansas City say actual air temperatures climbing today could push the heat index to 115 degrees. meteorologist Chris Bowman says this includes everywhere from Kansas City north because of the changing weather pattern.

Bowman adds you should work to stay hydrated, saying if you feel thirsty it's probably too late and recommends staying inside as much as possible.
