Plans are in the works for a new hospital in Chillicothe.

Hedrick Medical officials said they felt the time was right for a new facility after looking into the cost of maintaining the current center for the next 10 years. Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for Hedrick Medical Center Jordan Ferguson says there will be a series of town hall meetings open for the public to come, and ask questions about the project.

Ferguson adds funding for the new hospital will come from St. Lukes Health System and Hedrick Medical Center.
