Missouri River Working Group

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2011-08-9)

The senate is keeping the heat on the Army Corps of Engineers regarding Missouri River flooding.

Yesterday another letter was sent to the commander of the northwest division of the Corps asking questions about Missouri River management going forward. Both Missouri senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill serve on the bipartisan senate group asking the questions like what authority does the Corp have to change policy, how communication strategies with the public will change, and even how the Corp plans to use prediction data from the National Weather Service.

The letter the senators sent also asks for a plan and timeline for federal assistance in repairing flood damage in the Midwest corners area.
