Local Downgrade Impact

The city manager of our region's largest city says he's not worried yet about the S and P downgrade of US debt.

Economists theorize the action could make it harder for governments to issue bonds for projects. St. Joseph city manager Bruce Woody says the federal downgrade right now is too far removed from the local level.

But Woody adds that's not to say the downgrade may not effect our communities in the future.Woody adds the city of St. Joseph's S and P bond rating is at "A Plus" status and doesn't anticipate that changing in the near future.
