Three north Missouri residents are among 9 hundred agriculture producers and rural businesses nationwide that have landed federal funding for green energy products.

Eric Norton of Norton Farms is a pig producer in Plattsburg, his grant is for more than $17,000 for energy efficiency. James Weldon is receiving more than $9,000 for energy efficiency efforts at his soybean and corn farm near Gallatin. And Shirley Weldon of Gallatin's grant is for more than $11,000, it's also for energy efficiency. The grants are part of the "Rural Energy for America" program and also help fund solar and geothermal projects around the nation. The 3 north Missouri grants are part of 11 million dollars the USDA is spending on the 900 Agriculture businesses nationwide.
