MARYVILLE, MO (2011-08-05)
No injuries but the state fire Marshall is investigating what crews are calling a "Suspicious" fraternity house fire in Maryville.
Fire Departments in Maryville and the surrounding area got the call shortly after 5 this morning to find the Tau Kappa Epsilon house on fire. It's located just off of the east side of the university campus. Maryville Public Safety lieutenant Ron Christian says they found 2 different fires outside the fraternity house which was empty at the time. He says a couch outside was a blaze, and a separate fire outside the north corner of the house had made its way inside.
The house is about 12 years old and was undergoing renovations this summer. Christian doubts the Greek brothers will be able to move back into their house by the time the university starts classes in about 3 weeks. Northwest Missouri State is working with the students to help accommodate them with housing requests as they return.© Copyright, KXCV
