The National Transportation and Safety Board says it could be this time next year before the cause is officially released from that St. Joseph-based medical helicopter crash Friday night near Excelsior Springs that killed all aboard.
The victims include two Savannah residents, lifenet flight paramedic Chris Frakes and the flight nurse Randy Bever. The pilot was from south Dakota. The chopper was flying a 58 year old woman from the Bethany Hospital to Libery Missouri when it went down near Mosby, she also died. NTSB investigator Jim Silliman confirms they are investigating reports the pilot might have radioed they were low on fuel.
