DAVIESS COUNTY, MO (2011-08-04)
Missouri's governor appoints Gallatin's Carl Carder as the new associate county commissioner for Daviess County.
Carder retired in January after 27 years a maintenance and construction supervisor with the state Department of Transportation. He's also a two-time Iraqi soldier and has 30 years in active and reserve military duty and a former Gallatin School Board member. The governor says Carder was chosen because of his background of leadership experience. He fills the seat of long-time Daviess county commissioner Danny Heldenbrand, who died at age 57 the last day of May.
