MARYVILLE, MO (2010-08-19) A permanent solution to a temporary problem.
That's how organizers framed the issue of suicide during a prevention strategy workshop in Maryville this week. In the last 3 years Nodaway County has had nearly around 40 suicides a frequency that concerns health professionals. Gary Hillebrand is with preferred family healthcare that oversees Counties in Northern Missouri. He says whether it's church leaders, relatives, or friends, preventing suicide is truly a community responsibility. Two similar workshops in suicide prevention strategies is scheduled in Trenton and Chillicothe toward the end of this month.
