State Smoking Ban

MARYVILLE, MO (2010-08-12) The vote by the Maryville City council to ban smoking in all workplaces and public spaces behind them, the citizen's group pushing the measure says it could help spread the issue state wide.

Citizens for a smoke free Nodaway County estimates Maryville is the 14th or 15th city in Missouri to pass such a ban. Terri Harr is with the group and says it may be here and there now, but could become a state-wide issue. The Maryville ordinance takes effect October 1st.
