MARYVILLE, MO (2010-08-30) New changes to Missouri's DWI Law went into effect this past weekend, one that aims at dropping the number of drunk drivers on the state's roads.
House Bill 1695 gives circuit courts more flexibility for sending drug drivers through drug courts instead of prison. Senator Kurt Schaefer Helped get the house measure into law and says helping offenders in drug court appears to be more effective. The new law also helps bring down the prison population, saving the state money.
