MARYVILLE, MO (2010-08-24) More than 2 million dollars worth of projects in 4 communities just got a big boost thanks to grants submitted by the Northwest Missouri regional council of governments.
The 1.1 million dollar grants will help pay for a new $240,000 elevator in the Nodaway County courthouse, $454,000 in upgrades to Burlington Junction's street and drainage system, a new sanitary sewer system in Guilford and storm water drainage projects in Tarkio. Grant applications were submitted by the Northwest Missouri regional council, which works with Counties in our region on infrastructure projects. Tye Parsons leads the regional council and says landing the grants means big improvements. Most of the 4 projects can anticipate a spring start time for construction.
