GRUNDY COUNTY, MO. (2010-08-10) The deadline is this week for hunters in Missouri to apply for smaller, managed deer hunts.
Those are held at Squaw Creek, Crowder Park in Groundy County, and other areas on public land. Hunters must apply and be chosen. Buchanan County conservation agent Travis Shepler says the managed hunts are different than an open hunt. Shepler adds those chosen must attend a class before the hunt or they'll be dropped from participating. Deadline to sign up at any conservation office is this Sunday.
