MARYVILLE, MO (2010-08-23) In regards to the changes in fuel and purchased power costs, the Missouri public service commission has approved the request filed by KCP&L greater Missouri operations company to adjust the fuel adjustment charge on electronic customer bills.

The charge, which appears as a separate item on the monthly bill, is known as the fuel adjustment clause or FAC. Natural gas costs, purchased power costs and coal and freight costs are reasons for the adjustment to the FAC. On July 30, a recommendation was filed starting that KCP&L greater Missouri operations company's tariff complies with the commission's order which established the company's FAC and all applicable statues and regulations. In result, no party opposed the recommendation, objected to the tariff, or requested a hearing. KCP&L greater Missouri operations company serves approximately 311,000 electric customers in Missouri.
