BUCHANAN/ADAIR/GRUNDY COUNTY, MO (2010-08-27) Hundreds of thousands of dollars are coming to North Missouri to help fight drugs.
The federal money is part of a nearly $7,000,000 package sent to Missouri to combat drug related crimes and strengthen law enforcement efforts. The Buchanan county drug strike force will receive almost $400,000. More than 240,000 is given to the North Missouri Drug Task Force based in Adair county. And Grundy county's Nitro Drug Task FOrce will get more than $67,000. Federal officials say the grants will help the departments keep their drug fighting operations strong during the recession.
