Weatherization Available

Wayman

Northwest, MO (2009-08-05) Two agencies in North Missouri are distributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to help residents winterize their houses.

Community Services will be distributing nearly 330 thousand dollars in weatherization subgrant funds.

That agency serves residents of Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Clinton, Dekalb (de kab), Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth.

Also receiving grant money is the Green Hills Community Action Agency.

Nearly 220 thousand dollars will help residents of Caldwell, Daviess, Grundy, Harrison, Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Putnam, and Sullivan counties.

The money helps low-income missourians permanently reduce their energy bills by making their houses more energy efficient.

Since the program started in 1978 more than 155 thousand homes have been helped through weatherization initiative.

You can contact either Green Hills Community Action Agency or Community Services to find out eligibility requirements
