MARYVILLE, MO (2009-08-20) A fatal accident yesterday afternoon in Nodaway County also results in serious injuries.

20 year old Alicia Roberts of Maryville was driving a 1998 Honda Passport 5 miles East of Maryville on Route F. The vehicle's rear left tire blew out and Roberts overcorrected causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road, strike the ditch and overturn several times. Both Roberts and 20 year old Dustin W. Mahl of independence were ejected. Roberts was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville and was pronounced dead. Mahl was flown to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph with serious injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
