Prokes
Gentry County, MO (2009-08-03) A roads resurfacing project is scheduled to begin today (August 3) according to Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDot).
The roads involved will be on Route W between Mo 46 ( in
Gentry county) and US 169 Hwy (in Worth County).
The process involves milling two to three inches of the
existing pavement, adding additional asphalt oils to the
milled material, and replacing the reclaimed material back
on the road. Once the contractor is finished with the cold-in-
place recycling, area maintenance crews complete the process
with a chip seal.
Funds for the project are available from the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act (arra). In the Northwest
District, ninety-one miles of lettered routes will be
resurfaced using this technique. The contract for the work
was awarded to Hall Brothers Recycling and Reclamation of
Salina, Kansas.
