MARYVILLE, MO (2009-08-20) The Budget is set for the Maryville R-2 School district and the levy for its residents.

At last night's meeting the Board approved a total tax rate of $4.91 per $100 of assessed valuation which is much lower than the maximum laws allowed the Board to set. The Budget for this school year is also passed, even though it looks like there's a $100,000 shortfall. But Maryville Superintendent Vicki Miller is confident the Tax Rate, Budget, and Reserves will balance everything out. Building leaders in each of Maryville's school buildings reported higher than normal attendance the first day of classes as the school year begins.
