MARYVILLE, MO (2009-08-25) Maryville residents will see their City Tax Levy go up.
But The City is not collecting more revenue. At last night's Council Meeting Members voted to increase the three levys The City takes in by about an average amount as previous years. City Manager Matt LaCurf explains they had to raise The Levys just to take in the same amount of income because property tax revenues will be less this year. Also at last night's Maryville City Council Meeting serveral ordinances were passed to pursue Grant Money, including one banning The City's Police from using force against non-violent protestors and declaring some of The City's underground infrastructure blighted to get designated funds for upgrades.
