MARYVILLE, MO (2009-08-11) The new Nodaway Humane Society in Maryville is reaching out the community to help out homeless pets.
Tomorrow the Humane Society will celebrate "Adopt A Less Adoptable Pet Day" where they will highlight animals that have spent a longer time in the shelter and have still yet to find a home.
Shelter manager Cindy Nelson says these animals are sponsored by the Shelter Buddy Program and can usually be adopted at a lower cost.
The shelter will be open from one to seven to allow interested people to stop by and see the animals up for adoption. More information can be found at the Humane Society's website www.nodawayhumanesociety.org
