ST. JOSEPH, MO (2012-04-02)
St. Joseph citizens will vote tomorrow on a 42 million dollar bond that will help build new schools.
The bonds extends the indebtedness of a previous bond, of which the interest will provide the money and there will be no tax rate increase for residents. 2 new schools will be built, a new elementary in the northeast part of St. Joseph, the other replacing a school built in 1909. Chairman of the bond committee Kevin Kirby says the new schools will have efficient heating and air conditioning equipment. He says in addition existing schools in the district will see upgrades to their air conditioning systems.
