LINN COUNTY, MO (2012-04-04)
Linn County voters have decided on a half-cent sales tax increase to fund fire protection and other emergency services.
The fund would go towards updates to the emergency response system, which allows the dispatcher to know exactly where the person is at using cell phone GPS. County commissioner Dick King says the county needs this upgrade to keep its citizens and its visitors safe.
Linn County will keep its current 911 response system available while the upgrades are being put in place over the next year.© Copyright, KXCV
