Chillicothe Electric Rate Increase

Chillicothe Municipal utilities announced a raise in electric rates by 3.3%. 

This is the first rate increase since October 2008. Jim Gillian, general manager at Chillicothe municipal utilities, explains the increase change is just based on the cost of doing business and purchasing power.

Gillian also said the money will go towards the operating cost. Chillicothe municipal utilities estimates a customer using 800 kilowatts per hours monthly bill will increase about $2.54.
