Good weather means construction season is well underway for Nodaway County road maintenance.
A budget just under 3 million has been allocated for bridge and road projects this year. The 3 person crew is nearing completion for the 270th Street Bridge, 1 mile south of Northwest Regional Airport. That's one of 9 bridges set for reinforcement by this fall. Nodaway County road and bridge supervisor Larry Dougan says they are building them for the long haul.
Nodaway County, one of the larger geographic counties in the state, has 375 bridges and 1,000 miles of gravel roads to maintain.© Copyright, KXCV
