Maryville has retained its long-standing designation as "Tree City USA".

Confirmation of the honor comes after Maryville proved it met all 4 standards set up by the National Arbor Day Foundation, which including have a tree board, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day proclamation observance. This is the 13th year Maryville has received the "Tree City USA" national designation.
