MARYVILLE, MO (2010-4-13) The University in Maryville is trying to ensure it's commitment to the region while warning tough economic times are ahead.
A series of input meetings kick off this week, with yesterday afternoon's "State of the University" address by Northwest Missouri State president Dr. John Jasinski. Jasinski told a crowd of faculty, staff, students, and community members the school will thrive in the downturn if it gets enough input to not just weather the times, but clearly define the future of Northwest. Jasinski says focusing on academics will be the top priority, but also wants to explore physical learning spaces on campus, address deferred maintenance needs, and collect, analyze, and prioritize community input.
